Materials & Care

Each of our handcrafted items will indicate what they are made of so that you are aware of any special care requirements.

Eco/Acrylic Resin

Eco/Acrylic Resin is an eco-friendly, nontoxic and water based material that feels and looks a lot like concrete but allows a bit more flexibility on design and colour.

A distinguishing factor in these handcrafted items are air bubbles and uneven texture which is part of the their look and is in fact what makes them special and unique. The colours of each item are individually mixed and as such it can be difficult to match exact colours although we can always try.

All items are sealed with a wax sealer to make them resistant to water, but they are not considered foodsafe and should not be immersed in water. To clean, simply wipe with a damp cloth.

Epoxy Resin

Resin is a strong material, however, can be fragile against hard surfaces if dropped or knocked to please take care to not drop or hit them hard against such surfaces. If your resin jewellery or homeware's requires cleaning simply wash with warm soapy water and dry. DO NOT PLACE THEM IN THE DISHWASHER.

Over time, the surface of your resin can appear dry (this occurs with all resin). When resin becomes dry, you will notice it becomes slightly white on the outside. This is simply a case of the air drying the resin out, and the pieces’ original sheen can be restored by rubbing with a natural oil and then rubbing with dry cloth. Maintain sheen on a longer term basis by rubbing a few drops of oil every now and then.

If your resin piece becomes dirty simply wash with some warm soapy water and dry with towel. With items that have stainless steel findings or surrounds best to use a baby wipe or towelette or something which enables a little more attention to smaller details.

Concrete

Although concrete is a strong medium, on a small scale such as that in jewellery it can become chipped if knocked or dropped against a hard surface. Coming in contact with skin can cause slight discolouration on the item due to the oils in your skin however this will not harm you or your jewellery.

Moisture and perfumes can also cause the finishing touches on the concrete to change colour so best to avoid where possible.

For those items with raw finishes on the back, please be aware of the material of clothing that it is sitting on as it is rough and could cause pulling in certain fabrics.
